How Can severe Cough Along With Eye Pain Be Treated?

I have had a body shaking cough now for almost 3 weeks following a cold but it doesn t seem to be getting anybetter and night times are awful. I am now getting severe pain behind my eyes and in the back of my beck accompanied with a headache. Is this just to do with how hard I am coughing? Is there anything I can do to get rid of the pain?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It can be a part of viral fever.

As a first line management, you can take Acetaminophen for symptomatic relief. You can also take expectorant cough syrups also.

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated. In that case, a short course of antibiotics is required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
